The story behind ZAYNIS

Sometimes one moment changes everything.

ZAYNIS did not begin with a business plan or the dream of starting a webshop.

It began during my pregnancy with our fourth child.

During that pregnancy, we were told that our son would be born with a medical condition. It was a period full of uncertainty, in which the future suddenly felt very different than we had imagined. We knew that he would undergo multiple surgeries in his first year of life. It was precisely during that time that we started to look differently at what a child truly needs.

No more.

But better.

For us, that primarily meant one thing: comfort.

Clothing that feels soft on vulnerable skin. Materials that are safe. Designs that make dressing easier on days when your mind is already full enough. No harsh seams, no busy prints, no clothing that looks nice but is impractical.

That became the start of our search.

A search that went far beyond clothing

During that search, we discovered brands we barely encountered in the Netherlands. Not big fashion brands, but small European entrepreneurs who – just like us – are parents.

Brands that design out of love for children.

That choose organic cotton, merino wool, natural materials, and calm colors. Not because it is a trend, but because they believe children should be able to move freely and feel comfortable.

That appealed to us immediately.

Not flashy.

Not fleeting.

But conscious.

Then all the pieces of the puzzle fell into place

During Playtime Paris, an international trade fair for premium baby and children's brands, we discovered even more special brands.

One of them was ilailai.

Their vision "The Gentle Movement" felt like someone had written down our own thoughts. Children do not need to be limited by clothing. They should be able to crawl, play, explore, and grow up freely in clothing that moves with them.

Mrs. Ertha also touched us immediately. Their designs combine comfort, functionality, and timeless design in a way that perfectly aligns with how we look at children's clothing.

From that moment, we knew one thing for sure: these brands deserve a place in the Netherlands.

We changed too

As parents of four children, we know how easily wardrobes fill up.

With our older children, we often bought more than necessary. New collections, impulse purchases, clothing that ultimately was hardly worn.

Zayn's arrival changed our perspective.

Today, we make very different choices.

Our children no longer have overflowing wardrobes, but a small collection of carefully chosen items that are easy to combine with one another.

Fewer choices.

More peace.

Less stuff.

It has become a way of life that brings much peace to our family.
